Matthew has worked in the hair and beauty industry for over 20 years. He began his career in Sydney Australia working with some of the best hairstylists and makeup artists of the time. His work ranged from managing salons to fashion shows and magazine shoots, including titles such as Vogue, Goldwell & Intercoiffure. He became a member of PACT (Perm and Colour Technicians Association of Australia) and values his colour knowledge as a vital skill.

Arriving in London in 1996 Matthew worked for the Alan D group in their Regent St salon and was promoted to manage their Holborn site. From here he moved to Daniel Field Organic and Mineral Hairdressing in Crouch End, which has a bespoke holistic approach to hairdressing. Finally in 2008 he created his own salon, Scarlet & Hollywood hair beauty London, in fashionable Islington.
